Split, A Restaurant App, Makes It Easy To Give Back To Atlanta Community

LOCAL STARTup Sets Out To Raise Funds For Open Hand Atlanta

ATLANTA - September 21, 2015 - Split today announced they are joining forces with Open Hand Atlanta in an effort to give back to their community.

Starting on October 1, Split will donate a percentage of every dollar that diners spend using the app and send it directly to Open Hand Atlanta. Split is encouraging the Atlanta community to dine anywhere that Split is accepted in order to help them reach a significant dollar amount. "With enough support from the community we hope to make a big impact for Open Hand," said Jimmy Patel, Split co-founder, "They are packing 5,000 meals a day for the sick and elderly in Atlanta and we want to be a part of that kind of community support."

“Split is a true Atlanta company and everyone on the team has their own special connection to the city. We were either born here, raised here, or went to college here.” explains Daniel Dorfman, Split co-founder. “We all enjoy giving back to the community that we love and we felt that this partnership would be a great opportunity to do that.”

For diners, the Split process will remain the same. However, now when they dine out through the app they will be helping out their community.

“We are beyond grateful to Split for choosing us as their charity partner,” said John Penninger, Open Hand Atlanta’s Senior Director of Marketing and Resource Development. “Hopefully, Split will be put to great use at our many partner restaurants.”

Split is a available for both iOS and Android users and is free to download. To learn more about Split and suggest new restaurant locations, visit PayAndSplit.com and @Split. To download Split and help give back visit PayAndSplit.com/download.
