Spotlight: Atlanta's Cut Throat Kitchen Winner, Leslie Cohen

We sat down with Atlanta's Cutthroat Kitchen winner, restauranteur and entertainer, Leslie Cohen, to talk about her style and experiences.

How would you describe your cooking style?

My cooking style is definitely farm to table. I love fresh ingredients, simple presentations, and great flavors. It’s all about the food.


What is your favorite part about working in a restaurant?

The energy. I love people, I love to move, I love to treat people like they are in my home and show them a good time. Working in a restaurant allows me to be a host to such a variety of people. It’s amazing.


What do you feel are the most important factors when pulling together a complete dish?

Balance. You want to have texture, visual aspect, and strong flavors. You want to make sure you have a good balance of all of those 3 key factors.


What was your favorite part of Cutthroat Kitchen?

Definitely the cooking. You just get to zone out and forget you are on television. It’s by far the most fun. You can really feel the creative energy from everyone in that room.


What local Atlanta restaurant or bar are you loving right now?

I recently went to Superica. I feel like atmosphere and the high energy all match perfectly with the great tasting food. The whole experience was outstanding.


What is your favorite part about using Split?

What’s next for you?

I want to focus on growing as a restaurateur and entertainer. Anything I can do to develop myself and get out there and gain as many experiences as possible is what I’m gonna do.


If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life what would it be?

Pizza! It’s my favorite food in the world.
